One of the national parks that I visited that I’d really like to get back to one day is Lassen Volcanic National Park. It’s almost like a little slice of the Tetons and Yellowstone was dropped into Northern California. Lassen Peak itself is a 10,000+ foot volcano resulting in a strong and healthy creek seeping from its side known as King’s Creek. Along its way down, King’s Creek meanders through meadows and cascades its way down endless falls. In addition to the outstanding scenery, Lassen Volcanic National Park also includes all the volcanic features you’d find in Yellowstone National Park as well, including geysers and mudpots, among other things. This, however, doesn’t even scratch the surface of what’s in the park as well as its backcountry areas. This shot in particular is from Manzanita Lake near the western entrance.
